Our last week in Portland Oregon was perfect. We got to see family & friends again, and ate more good food! Shane & Mimi came to end our Portland Trip with us. We only had one night with them and the following day they went to explore as we packed up and started our move to Bend. They met us up in Bend and spent a day here exploring while we worked. Spending the evenings with them was perfect. Dinners are always better with good friends, thank you for spoiling us with yummy food all weekend long Stoeke’s! We were hooked on exploding kittens all weekend. Late night drinks and games filled with laughter. and so much love. We had a great time, thank you Stoeke’s for visiting and creating lasting memories.
We didn’t do much in Bend. It was a bit colder than us Californians are used to and they kept our adventurous souls home a bit more. We did take advantage of the no sales tax and got some shopping done! It was also nice to find our routine again. I was introduced to a new online virtual yoga app, Glo which has gotten me back into a morning yoga/meditation routine. We got ourselves back into a gym, CrossFit Type 44! It feels so amazing to pick up a barbell again. We are trying to make sure when we get back to our home sweet home, CrossFit Tustin, that we don’t look too bent out of shape! That means we better continue the next couple weeks. Thankfully I’ve already found a box close to our new home just a few minutes away!
It’s nice to have some downtime every once in a while, especially before getting back to California where it will be non stop busy busy. Now that we are heading back for the holidays, it feels like our journey is coming to an end, but we know we already have our new rig ordered and we’ll be off and on the road again after the holidays!
We are in Northern California now, we’re staying at MoonBeam Farms, a harvest host for a night before we make our way to Morgan Hill, home for the next two weeks! I’m really enjoying g our harvest host experience so far for boondocking, the people are always so nice and your fellow boondockers are always such amazing people. They have a lavender farm here and they have sheers out front to encourage you to cut some lavender for yourself! With 8 different lavender types, you already knew I had a blast with this! My home smells wonderful now, full of lavender scents everywhere! We didn’t get to shop at their store since they were not open when we left and were closing as we arrived, so instead I have made an order on their Etsy Website to support their business! Part of the Harvest Host deals is that we get a free night stay but are asked to make a minimum $20 purchase/donation which we have no problem doing especially when we love supporting small businesses! We met our neighbor Colin, who had been traveling around for more than 4 years now! I love hearing all the stories and thinking about our potential time on the road. His home base is Seattle, WA, where he has his sailboat docked and waiting to be sailed. He spends half his time on land and half of it on water. Amazing lifestyle, all while working remotely. We hope to come visit and explore the open waters with you Colin, so nice to have met you and spent a nice evening chatting with you! I just love when we have instant connections!
We’ll be hitting the road again in a few hours, can’t wait to get to our next destination. I have lots of family in San Jose and can’t wait to visit with everyone!! Then in just two short weeks, we’ll be back to where it all started, Southern California!
Hey Califonia friends and family… Warning warning… ready or not, we’ll be back soon!
