Last few days in Alberta Canada

We went on a rocky 4 mile hike through Grotto Canyon Trail. As we were hiking along the canyon, we saw a few groups of rock climbers either setting up or climbing their way to the tops of the canyon. We saw an area full of hoodoos in all different shapes and sizes. It just looked and felt so magical being surrounded by them all. As you continue along, you come up to this steep hill where a cave sits up at the top. Mike tried to climb up and made it half way up before realizing it was probably too steep to get all the way to the top and safely back down. It was a beautiful, sunny but also a bit windy throughout the hike. Once we got to the cave, we rested a bit and turned back around. At the beginning of the hike, you get to a beautiful look out point that looks out to Gap Lake. Beautiful views all around in Canada. I love it here! After our hike, we went back home into town for dinner at Cabeza Grande. The chips & salsa, mojitos and tacos were delish!

Earlier in the week we met a couple on the bridge who we recorded jumping off into the river, Fraser & Meagan! We learned that Meagan is an acupuncturist working at Back at it Sports & Wellness Clinic in Canmore and the Banff location. The Canmore location is only a 5 minute bike ride away from home! I booked my very first session with her and had a very relaxing and enjoyable experience. For anyone who has been thinking about acupuncture, I strongly suggest you give it a try! It really was a great reset for my mind, body & soul. This was a great reminder to care for oneself and to remain mindful of your body’s needs. Meagan’s positive energy definitely helped remind me to stay mindful daily and to continue my morning meditation/yoga routine, even if its just a few moments each day.

Driving out of Canmore and into Downtown Calgary was definitely a different vibe and feel. As you leave the beautiful surroundings of nature and the Canadian Rockies your eyes are then locked onto the beautiful silhouette of Downtown Calgary. Wow, what a gorgeous city! We got a couple of bird scooters and scooted all around town. Our first destination was breakfast at Egg Smart, and off we went to the Calgary Tower! Walking around the tower is such a beautiful sight. I really enjoyed looking down into the city from such a high view. There is a small section where they made the floors are glass, it took me quite a while, but I eventually got over my fear and made my way onto the glass floors! Wow, what an amazing feeling! Then I slowly got Mike to join me as well! This was a fun little touristy thing that I definitely enjoyed and would recommend to others as well! As we rode through Chinatown, we stopped by a bakery to pick up some of my favorite pastries, Chinese Egg Tarts! We had such a great time scooting all around downtown Calgary. I definitely enjoyed the city life for the day but was ready to get back into nature.

We spent a couple more relaxing days in Canmore and Banff downtown riding around on our bikes, saw 3 huge elks, enjoyed live music at the bridge, always lots of ice cream, food, rain , sunshine, double rainbows and beautiful 360 views! I even snuck in a little 90 minute massage at Verde Day Spa one rainy morning, so relaxing and it was the perfect way to end our vacation in Canada.
